Shops will host various events all month long, including Soaps It Up car washes, barbecues, golf tournaments, wing nights and auctions. To kick things off, franchisees will participate in The Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History on May 27.
“Franchisees across Canada will strive to raise funds that will hopefully lead to a cure for people living with CF,” says Michael Macaluso, president of Carstar Canada. “We have challenged our network to raise more than $375,000 and the energy we are already seeing behind this year’s Shine Month has me confident our franchisees will exceed this goal.”
The organization’s partnership with Cystic Fibrosis Canada began in 1997 when former Carstar franchisee Harry Belmont’s granddaughter was diagnosed. Since then, franchisees, partners, vendors and community supporters have helped raise more than $3 million.
