Following the success of its Beyond Meat Burger, A&W has recently announced the introduction of new plant-based items to its breakfast menu starting March 11.
The quick-service restaurant has once again partnered with Beyond Meat, a meat-substitute manufacturer, to create a breakfast sausage, which is made with 100 per cent plant-based proteins.
“We recognize Canadians are interested in including more plant-based proteins in their diets,” said A&W Canada’s president and CEO Susan Senecal. “Adding this option to our breakfast menu is the kind of innovation that we love. Just like our Beyond Meat Burger, this delicious sausage is packed with flavour and made from plants.”
While the Beyond Meat Sausage & Egger features a plant-based breakfast sausage patty served with an egg and a slice of cheddar cheese on a burger bun or an English muffin, the Beyond Meat Sausage & Veggie is made with a sausage patty and served with lettuce and tomato.
“We couldn’t be happier to be expanding our partnership with A&W,” said Beyond Meat’s founder and CEO Ethan Brown. “The consumer response to the burger has been overwhelmingly positive. We applaud A&W’s innovative approach and look forward to introducing Beyond Meat’s latest product creation to Canadians nationwide.”
it wd be fantastic if you used real cheese instead of fake.
