Cobs Bread opens 100th bakery in Alberta

Food-service franchise system Cobs Bread is opening its 100th location in Chestermere, Alta., on Nov. 29.

The new location is owned by local co-franchisees Collin Nyberg and Bevin Bannister.

“We were looking for the right opportunity to bring a business to Chestermere and we thought of Cobs Bread,” says Nyberg. “We love the products, customer service and community involvement Cobs is known for. We look forward to sharing high-quality, healthier products with families in Chestermere and surrounding areas.”

Cobs opened its first bakery in North Vancouver in 2003. Today, the brand has expanded across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. The next two bakeries are set to open before the end of the year in Grand Prairie, Alta., and Ottawa, respectively. The brand will also expand into Manitoba in the new year with a location in Winnipeg.
