German Doner Kebab has appointed a new franchise recruitment director for North America to spearhead its growth and development in the region.
Food and beverage industry veteran Michael Bruno joins the company with more than 25 years’ experience in the sector.
His appointment comes as German Doner Kebab opens its first two restaurants in Ottawa and Vancouver, and forges ahead with its North American expansion and plans to engage and recruit franchisees across the region.
German Doner Kebab currently has five franchisees who have signed up for a development pipeline of 75 restaurants across North America, embarking on significant growth with key locations in Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver, as well as those across the U.S.
German Doner Kebab, the flagship brand of Hero Brands, currently has more than 700 franchises already signed up worldwide.
German Doner Kebab U.S. managing director Nigel Belton believes Bruno’s experience will prove invaluable in strengthening the senior team and further build upon the company’s rapid North American expansion.
“I am looking forward to working closely with Michael as we seek to rapidly develop a robust development pipeline,” he said. “With our first two stores now open in Canada, I am confident this will translate into much more interest and excitement which will support our endeavours to onboard the right partners to build the brand.”
Bruno has been instrumental in opening approximately 1000 restaurants in North America while supporting franchisees throughout the process in site selection, design, and build.
“I am delighted to be joining the brand at a crucial time for its development across North
America,” he said. “This really is a fantastic opportunity to be joining a new disruptive brand and help the senior team drive and further strengthen GDK’s footprint as it prepares for an exciting growth period.”
The German Doner Kebab franchise business currently employs more 1000 people within the UK and also operates franchised stores in Sweden, Dubai, Abu-Dhabi, Oman, and Bahrain.
