On July 8, Quesada Burritos & Tacos officially opened its 150th restaurant in Edmonton.
The company milestone coincides with plans for continued growth that includes a national ghost kitchen partnership, and new restaurant openings across Canada throughout 2021.
“The pandemic proved how strong the love of Quesada’s unique, authentic take on burritos and tacos truly is. Our fans stayed with us as we weathered the storm. That’s inspired us to put a stronger focus on growth at a more rapid pace across the country before launching internationally,” said Steve Gill, founder & CEO, Quesada Burritos & Tacos.
More than 20 restaurant locations are anticipated to open in 2021 with B.C. and Ontario being among the brand’s fastest growing markets.
This year, Quesada will partner with REEF Kitchens to be available through ghost kitchens in downtown Toronto starting this August with plans to expand across the country later this year.
“This broadens our reach and allows even more people to experience Quesada. We’re excited about that because we know that once people try us, they’re hooked,” said Gill.
Throughout the pandemic, Quesada continued to support environmental and humanitarian causes as part of its Kindness Menu through charitable partnerships with Second Harvest, David Suzuki
Foundation, and the Red Cross. The company also launched Canada’s first-ever biodegradable burrito wrap to divert 100,000 pounds of foil from landfills by 2025 as well as engaged in its first-ever advertising campaign during the NHL playoffs.
