In early February, Taco Bell provided a free Double Layer Taco in exchange for a clothing donation.
The campaign, Layers for Layers, presented the menu item in three flavours and was offered in a crunchy, hard shell taco wrapped in a soft tortilla shell, with nacho cheese sauce in between. In addition to accepting donations in restaurants, the franchise also matched profits from each Double Layer Taco given away during the event in support of Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.
“Taco Bell Canada is known for doing unexpected gestures when launching time-sensitive menu items,” said the company’s head of marketing, Veronica Castillo. “We’re extending the giving season and giving back to local communities and those in need with the help of our customers.”
