German Doner Kebab plans to open 100 new restaurants in Canada over the next 10 years.
The growth plans come following the launch of its first two restaurants in Ottawa and Surrey, B.C., last year.
The fast-casual brand now plans to open three more restaurants in the country by the end of 2021, including a downtown Toronto location, which is scheduled to open in May. The company is also looking for experienced multi-unit franchise partners in Montreal, Calgary, and Ottawa as part of its growth plans for Canada.
“Our first two restaurants in Ottawa and Surrey have met our expectations, and we are looking forward to forging ahead with our ambitious growth plans for Canada and North America,” said managing director for North America, Nigel Belton. “We now have big plans for Canada and are excited about embarking on our next phase of growth in 2021 and opening what will be a flagship site in downtown Toronto.”
The development plans in North America have also been boosted by the appointment of Michael Bruno as its new franchise recruitment director.
The food and beverage industry veteran joined from Focus Brands with more than 25 years’ experience in the sector and has been charged with spearheading growth and development in the region.
“Michael Bruno has been a great capture for us, and his experience will be invaluable to us as we develop our footprint and bring the German Doner Kebab experience to even more consumers across the region,” said Belton.
