Vancouver-based franchisor White Spot Restaurants has been named the inaugural recipient of the Ocean Wise Sustainable Seafood Award in recognition of its exceptional practices in sourcing, serving, and promoting.
“Since becoming a partner in 2017, the restaurant has become a champion of sustainable food,” said Ocean Wise’s manager Sophika Kostyniuk.
The franchisor joined the Seafood program in 2017 and introduced a new menu to restaurants in B.C. and Alberta. Currently, the chain has more than a dozen Ocean Wise dishes including its signature chargrilled salmon.
“It’s an honour to accept this award on behalf of White Spot Restaurants and we sincerely thank the organization for this recognition,” said director of supply management Jennifer Martin.
