Ice cream store franchise system Baskin-Robbins is continuing its expansion in the Ontario market.

The company, which is part of the Dunkin’ Brands Group, recently celebrated its 100th location in Canada with the opening of a shop at Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton.

The 42.6-m2 (459-sf) store is owned and operated by co-franchisees Lori and Frank Malavolta. The couple, who are first-time franchisees with the brand, have owned a Kernels Popcorn franchise in the same mall for the past 20 years.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Baskin-Robbins family and proud to be operating the brand’s 100th location in Canada,” said franchisee Lori Malavolta. “The operations team has been a great support to my husband and I, and we look forward to this new adventure.”

Baskin-Robbins Canada has franchises in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia. Last week, the company announced Caramel Cappuccino Cheesecake as its December flavour of the month.
