The franchise, set to open in September, was designed by architect Ana Henton, who included an oversized wall graphic of the Toronto skyline. The restaurant will focus on sustainability with energy-efficient light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and compostable packaging. The menu will include Canadian ingredients, craft wine and beer, gluten-free options and vegan cheese.
Blaze Pizza restaurants feature an interactive, open kitchen concept, allowing patrons to customize their pizzas. The staff first prepares the pies in an assembly line, then cooks the pizzas for 180 seconds in an open-flame oven.
“We’re thrilled to bring Blaze Pizza to Canada and couldn’t ask for a better place to begin than in the food-forward city of Toronto,” says the company’s chief operating officer (COO), Jim Mizes. “At Blaze, we are all about carefully sourcing ingredients, cooking by fire and letting customers enjoy high-quality artisanal pizza at fast speeds. We think the authenticity of our food, plus our service culture that genuinely focuses on the happiness of our customers and crew, will likely be key to our success in Canada.”
