Boston Pizza introduces Pizza Game Changers

croppedIn time for the National Hockey League’s (NHL’s) playoff season, Canadian food-service franchisor Boston Pizza has introduced new menu items and a marketing campaign called Pizza Game Changers.

“The campaign allows Canadians to not only explore our limit-pushing new menu items,” says Joanne Forrester, vice-president (VP) of marketing, “but also have the opportunity to take the reins and tell us what pizza innovations they’d like to see next.”

As part of the campaign, customers can visit a special microsite to vote for one of Boston Pizza’s latest ideas, such as pizza-flavoured mints, a gas-powered pizza cutter, a pizza cheese clipper or pizza cake. The item with the most votes will be brought to market this summer.

Meanwhile, the new menu items—available at restaurants across the country until June 1—include:
● The pizza taco, a chipotle chicken and bacon taco with a pizza for a shell, also available with pulled pork.
● Sriracha chicken pizza, topped with Sriracha pizza sauce and chicken, mozzarella and sesame seeds.
● A calzono stuffed with seasoned beef, cheesy queso dip, black beans, roasted corn and peppers, rice, tomatoes, cheddar, mozzarella and spicy banana peppers.
● Pizzaburger sliders.
● Candied-bacon carrot cake.
