Carl’s Jr. to serve up restaurants in Ontario

cropFood-service franchisor CKE Restaurant Holdings Inc., plans to open 30 Carl’s Jr. burger restaurants across Ontario’s ‘Golden Horseshoe’ region over the next six years, starting with Toronto.

CKE has signed an agreement with 6Points Food Services to develop, open and operate the restaurants. The agreement is part of CKE’s larger plan to expand the Carl’s Jr. chain across Canada. 6Points’ locations will include Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Brantford and London, Ont.

“Carl’s Jr. is really gaining momentum across Canada,” says Kent Graber, 6Points managing partner. “There’s a lot of buzz about the burst of development of the brand throughout the market and we’re anxious to dig in. Carl’s Jr.’s premium menu and big, delicious burgers have already captured the affection and appetites of our neighbours in British Columbia and Alberta and we think Ontario will be no exception.”

“With eight franchise entities now developing restaurants in Canada, the market will be a key contributor to the growth of CKE’s system,” says Ned Lyerly, CKE’s international executive vice-president (EVP).
