Food-service franchise system The Chopped Leaf recently opened three franchises in the span of two weeks, including one in Richmond, B.C., and two in Calgary.

Since Innovative Food Brands (IFB) acquired The Chopped Leaf in October 2014, the chain has grown by 111 per cent. On Oct. 29, Mandeep and Randeep Rai opened the Richmond franchise; on Oct. 26, Gregory and Kristen Shewciw opened the Shepard Regional Centre location in Calgary; and on Oct. 19, Tiziana Chappell and Jennifer Van Inderstine opened the West Springs location in Calgary.

“We expect to have more than 80 Chopped Leaf franchises operating by the end of 2017,” says Nick Veloce, IFB’s president.
