COBS Bread’s seasonal Hot Cross Bun campaign is underway with a goal of raising $250,000 for charities across Canada.
Funds were raised online between March 22 and 27, which was ‘Doughnation Week,’, capped by ‘Doughnation Day’ on March 27 where $2 from the sale of every hot cross bun six-pack was donated to local charities across Canada.
The goal of this initiative is to raise funds for COBS Bread’s community charities across the country, in addition to its national charitable partner, Breakfast Club of Canada. Each bakery selected a local charity and raised funds in-bakery throughout the campaign.
“As a community bakery, connecting with local charities is a cornerstone of our business,” said COBS Bread vice-president of marketing, Brad Bissonnette. “We also recognize in the midst of this pandemic, people want to have options for how they can get their food and bread and give back to their communities. We’re looking forward to the outcome of these efforts and the impact we can make across the country.”
Although ‘Doughnation Week’ is passed, through April 7, customers can donate at the point of purchase to the bakery’s local community charity throughout the campaign.
