‘Love Reese to Pieces,’ the 2014 winner of food-service franchise system Tim Hortons’ Duelling Donuts competition, is being sold in Canadian restaurants for a limited time.
After evaluating nearly 77,000 entries, judges and the public chose ‘Love Reese to Pieces,’ which was created by Jennifer Browne of Glencoe, Ont., as the winner of the create-your-own donut contest. It is filled with custard, covered in chocolate fondant and topped with chopped peanuts and mini Reese Peanut Butter Cups. It is the first peanut butter and chocolate donut to appear on Tim Hortons’ menu in Canada.
“From the overwhelming positive response from Canadians who voted for the donut last year, we knew there were a lot of customers who wanted to see the classic flavours of peanut butter and chocolate brought to life,” says Tim Hortons Canada chief operating officer (COO) David Clanachan. “We are excited to finally bring together the taste of Reese with our classic donuts.”
