Until the end of December, Famoso will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds from its Campania tomato sauce to Mealshare, which in return will donate one meal for every jar sold to someone in need in the corresponding franchise’s community.
Last year, more than $17,000 was raised and Mealshare provided more than 5,000 meals through its partner charities. The remainder of the funds helped expand Mealshare’s buy-one, give-one program, where diners can order special menu items at partner restaurants and a meal is given to someone in need with no additional payment or action from the customer.
“We really enjoyed working with Mealshare last year and we were excited to see the impact they made with the funding,” says Justin Lussier, Famoso’s CEO.
“The Campania program was amazing last year,” says Mealshare’s co-founder, Andrew Hall. “We were able to work together to provide thousands of meals to hungry people and Famoso also provided us with funding to help grow our model into new cities and partner with more restaurants.”
