Firehouse Subs Canada has opened its latest restaurant in Ontario, making it the second location in the greater Barrie area. Franchisees Nilam and Ravish Shah are opening the doors to their fourth Firehouse Subs restaurant.
The uncle and nephew duo opened their first location in Barrie in 2018. In 2021, they acquired the location in Vaughan followed by another opening in Orillia a few months later. Ravish and Nilam bring more than a decade of combined food service experience to Firehouse Subs, as they previously both worked for large restaurant chains.
“We are honoured to be opening our fourth location,” said Nilam. “Between our loyal guests and the brand’s unique mission, we are excited to continue serving a great product for our guests and supporting our local first responders through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada.”
Guests can order takeout service at the counter inside, over the phone, or online at www.firehousesubs.ca, as well as through third-party delivery apps or Rapid Rescue To Go takeout service at the counter inside.
Founded by former firefighting brothers, the new restaurant décor reflects the founding family’s decades of fire and police service through photos and equipment donated by local fire departments. It features a custom, hand-painted mural by chief mural artist Joe Puskas that features the historic Allendale Railway Station in Barrie that was built in the early 1900s. Courtesy of Simcoe County Archive, the mural also showcases the vintage steam engine 6167 that was used for trips from Barrie to Toronto and back. Since the opening of the first Firehouse Subs in 1994, Puskas and his team have painted more than 1200 murals from his studio at company headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.
