Hair salon franchisor Great Clips treated more than 50 children and families who are part of the Ronald McDonald House community in Southern Ontario to a day of fun, which included a meet and greet with Monster Jam driver Bryce Kenny.
The event, hosted in collaboration with Feld Entertainment, was held at indoor play place Bingemans FunworX in Kitchener, Ont.
“Kids and families who stayed at Ronald McDonald House have dealt with some serious issues, so we wanted to give these folks a special day where they could just have fun,” said Farhan Merchant, marketing manager with Great Clips Canada. “Great Clips is always looking for ways to give back to the community and having Bryce Kenny come out and meet the kids seemed like a great way to do that.”
“Ronald McDonald House is all about helping families, so an event like this, where families who are part of the RMH community in the Kitchener-Waterloo area are treated to a special day of fun is greatly appreciated,” added Chris Over, donor relations spokesperson for Ronald McDonald House. “You don’t need to look any further than the smiles on everyone’s faces to see it was a tremendous success.”
Great Clips also recently announced a multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA). In celebration of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the company is inviting hockey fans to vote for their favourite NHL hairstyle and join in on the discussion through social media using the hashtag #HockeyHair.
“We are excited to partner with the NHL and NHLPA as we highlight and celebrate the fun and unique hairstyles flowing throughout the sport of hockey,” said Lisa Hake, vice-president of marketing and communications at Great Clips.
Established in 1982, Great Clips has more than 4300 salons throughout Canada and the U.S., all of which are franchised.
