Tying in with next month’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Krispy Kreme is hosting a film fest of its own, allowing anyone who shares a passion for doughnuts to show off their artistic talents through film or video.
The doughnut store franchisor’s contest is open to Canadian residents, with all submissions due by midnight on August 31. Videos must be between seven seconds and five minutes in length, whether filmed with a smart phone, tablet computer or professional video camera. Entrants can upload their videos through YouTube. Details are available at www.krispykremefilmfestival.ca.
The top 10 finalists will be announced online on Tuesday, September 3, and then unveiled on September 12 at Toronto’s Royal Cinema, at which point one winner will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges. The winner will receive free doughnuts for one year, a $500 cash prize and a doughnut-inspired ‘Oscar’ statuette (pictured).
