McDonald’s Canada is hosting a one-day virtual hiring event that will let job-seekers apply with a ‘Snapplication’ via Snapchat.
On March 27, users of the messaging app will have access to a unique lens that will enable them to film a 30-second video, which can then be submitted to the company’s hiring portal.
“We wanted to offer a convenient and flexible application process to attract more young people through our one-day virtual hiring event,” said Stephanie Hardman, the company’s chief people officer. “From youth applying for their first jobs, to experienced candidates, Snapplications is a new and exciting way for people to kick-start a career at McDonald’s Canada.”
McDonald’s Canada is among the largest hirers of youth in the country, with 83 per cent of its employees classified as millennials (i.e. born between 1981 and 1996).
