The first Menchie’s franchise opened in Los Angeles, Calif., in 2007 and the first Canadian store followed in September 2010. The franchisor plans to open an additional 20 stores in Canada by the end of the year.
“We have grown from two open stores at the end of 2010 to 50 as of June 2013,” says Michael Shneer, president of Yogurtworld Enterprises, the Canadian master franchisor for Menchie’s. “This success is deep-rooted in the Menchie’s corporate culture. Our franchisees tell us they love the network of support provided to them from the very beginning, from when their store is first built to the moment the doors open to the public. We truly set each franchisee up for success and enable them to flourish in their community.”
The Menchie’s concept and store layout allows customers to control their frozen yogurt experience. When they enter the store, they grab a cup and pull a lever to dispense the product. A special toppings bar offers fresh fruits, granolas, nuts, assorted candies and sauces to be mixed with the yogurt.
“We are dedicated to ensuring our guests have a good time the minute they walk in the door,” says Shneer. “This positive and vibrant atmosphere is also one of the major draws for our franchisees. People just want to work in an environment that makes other people happy.”
