MR MIKES SteakhouseCasual has become an official restaurant partner of Mealshare, a national charity that allows people to turn their dining out in supporting a worthy cause.

The company is inviting Canadians to kick off the partnership by visiting one of their 44 locations to help end youth hunger.

Guests can participate and donate by purchasing the current Mealshare feature dish or making their meal a Mealshare item, by adding $1 to any meal. For every Mealshare meal purchased, one simple, healthy meal is provided to a youth in need, directly in their community and internationally through Save the Children Canada.

“We are very excited to be a new restaurant partner of Mealshare. As a restaurant brand with values around belonging and community, aligning with a food related charity just made sense. Especially with the focus on feeding youth in need, we really couldn’t find a better fit,” said Taili Coates, vice-president of marketing of MR MIKES. “This is community giving at its best–when our guests can know the direct charity they are supporting and have comfort in the fact youth in need in the community they live in are benefiting directly.”

“Hunger is not just an issue in faraway places. It is happening right here in Canada and can make anyone experiencing it feel very vulnerable, especially children. Having a well known restaurant group like MR MIKES join our family of socially conscious restaurant partners allows us to have even more of an impact on children and youth in smaller communities across Canada,” said Derek Juno, executive vice-president, Mealshare.
