Mucho Burrito brings back ghost pepper burrito

editMexican food franchise system Mucho Burrito has brought back its ghost pepper burrito and introduced a ghost pepper-inspired chocolate bar to bring the heat for customers looking for extreme flavours.

The ghost pepper burrito’s two heat levels, ‘hotter than hell’ and ‘wimpy,’ are achieved with a combination of savory ghost pepper bacon, ghost pepper-infused fig marmalade (for ‘sweet heat’), brown Mexican rice, salsa and a choice of meat, all wrapped in a fiery red tortilla. The hotter version also contains a splash of Mucho Burrito’s hottest salsa and pure ghost pepper sauce to ignite consumers’ taste buds.

The chocolate bar is new this year, infusing milk chocolate with chili peppers to bring together sweet and spicy flavours.

“Our guests showed us last year they have a real desire to experience extreme flavours,” says Norm Pickering, Mucho Burrito’s director of marketing for North America. “With heat-seekers looking to try out new food adventures, we decided to bring back the crowd favourite, ghost pepper burrito, and appeal to the sweet tooth with the launch of ‘hotter than hell’ chocolate bars.”

The ghost pepper burrito and chocolate bars will be available until November 2, Mexico’s Day of the Dead, at Mucho Burrito franchises across North America.
