Pet Valu donates products for pets displaced by B.C. wildfires

Pet Valu has donated $100,000 in litter, litter boxes, dog and cat food and crates to Four Paws Food Bank and the Prince George Humane Society in British Columbia to help pet owners displaced by wildfires.

“Our volunteers have been working non-stop since July 9, helping every type of pet,” says Bonnie McBride of Four Paws Food Bank. “The donation from Pet Valu has made an enormous difference. We can now help all of the pet owners who come to us.”

“When you have to pack up your family and pets and flee a wildfire, the stress can be overwhelming,” says Tom McNeely, CEO of Pet Valu. “We hope our donation will give pet owners some peace of mind, knowing they can keep their pets safe and comfortable while they are away from their homes.”

Also, two Pet Valu stores in 100 Mile House and Williams Lake, B.C., have been evacuated. Pets from these stores are being fostered by staff.
