Pizza Pizza has unveiled a vegetable-based crust for those looking for an alternative to traditional pizza dough.
The food-service franchise system’s new cauliflower crust pizza is now available at restaurants across Canada. The gluten-free, vegan crust has a similar texture to Pizza Pizza’s regular crust, with the added benefit of two servings of vegetables in every medium-sized pie.
“We know consumers are on the hunt for trend-worthy meals that help them incorporate more vegetables into their diet,” said Paul Goddard, Pizza Pizza’s CEO. “Our new cauliflower crust pizza is our way of filling the void in the market. It will offer consumers a healthier alternative without compromising on taste.”
Pizza Pizza has also unveiled two new recipes to complement the crust:
- cauli pesto pizza, which has a pesto sauce base, mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, and spinach with italiano blend seasoning; and
- cauli blanco pizza, which has an olive oil base, mozzarella cheese, artichokes, grilled zucchini, roasted garlic, and parmesan cheese with italiano blend seasoning.
