Food-service franchise system Quiznos has added two new pulled pork sandwiches to its menu to celebrate Canadian pig farmers throughout August and September.

The Southern-style sandwich features pulled pork, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses and tangy pickles. The spicy chipotle sandwich features pulled pork, ham, smoky bacon, cheddar cheese, jalapeno peppers, pickles, sautéed onions and tomatoes.

“This is our chance to thank and show pride for Canadian farmers and connect their important work to Canada’s 150th birthday,” says George Jeffrey, chief operating officer (COO) at Quiznos.

The sandwich shop chain sources its pork from Lou’s Barbeque Company in Stoney Creek, Ont., which seasons pork shoulder with simple ingredients and then smokes it for two hours.
