Rabba Fine Foods has won a Canadian Grocer Impact Award for the third consecutive year. Rabba’s 2023 award is in the sustainability category, highlighting contributions to creating a more environmentally friendly grocery industry.
The Canadian Grocer Impact Awards highlight outstanding contributions from Canadian grocers and initiatives they have introduced and implemented within the Canadian grocery industry. Rabba’s was recognized for installing solar panels at its distribution centre, reducing the carbon footprint of its grocery network.
“Making an impact on the communities we serve and on the greater grocery industry is vital for Rabba Fine Foods,” said Rick Rabba, president of Rabba Fine Foods. “The use of solar energy at Rabba Fine Foods will help pave the road to a greener future.”
The approximately 2,600 solar panels generate more than 1.5 million kWh of electricity annually, thereby offsetting the vast majority of the electricity requirements for Rabba’s Mississauga distribution facilities.
