The city’s first Fatburger franchise is located in the west end in Seasons of Tuxedo Mall, while the new restaurant is located in the east end in Rougeau Plaza. The same franchisees own both.
“We are pleased with the great reception we have received in Winnipeg and are looking forward to serving customers in the newest addition to our burger chain,” says Frank Di Benedetto, CEO of FBF Brandz, master franchisor of Fatburger Canada.
The new restaurant, which is co-branded with Buffalo’s World-famous Wings and Tenders, will feature an open kitchen, flat-screen televisions and a sound system.
Fatburger first opened in the 1950s in Los Angeles, Calif., when ‘fat’ meant ‘cool’ or ‘hip.’ Today, there are 50 Canadian restaurants in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. More are expected to open this year.
