Shoppers Drug Mart has announced a new online nutrition service delivered by their registered dietitians to provide customers with convenient access to personalized nutrition information.

“Not all Ontarians have easy access to dietitian services,” said the company’s registered dietitian Emily Campbell. “With the new service, all one needs is a mobile device or a computer and they can have one-on-one personalized nutrition counselling from a registered dietitian to help them meet their goals by developing sustainable habits.”

The online service includes:

  • An initial 60-minute consultation to assess a customer’s eating habits and create a tailored nutrition plan; and
  • Follow-up nutrition consultations to help patients stay on track and learn practical strategies to overcome challenges.

Consultations are available via phone and virtual calls on computer or mobile devices from Monday to Thursday between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m (excluding holidays).

“Our goal is to make personalized nutrition counselling convenient for residents of Ontario,” said the company’s senior vice-president for health and wellness services Theresa Firestone. “Our online nutrition service provides the same expert counselling patients receive in-store, but from a location and time that is convenient for them.”
