The grand opening offered snack-size poutine and naked premium wieners for two dollars. Patrons took in the new store’s design, inspired by industrial hot dog carts, along with colourful phrases painted on the walls to create an entertaining store experience. Owned by franchisee Duc Goi, the new franchise is located beside Smoke’s Poutinerie on Spadina Avenue.
Smoke’s Wienerie takes hot dogs to a new level by offering many different gourmet toppings and combinations, including the bacon mushroom melt featuring double-smoked bacon, mushrooms and cheddar cheese sauce, nacho nacho featuring homemade chili, salsa, jalapenos and cheddar cheese sauce and the chili cheez featuring homemade chili and cheddar cheese sauce. Hot dog options include the traditional Montreal steamie, quarter-pound all-beef and half-pound all-beef 12-inch classic.
“We’ve poured our heart and soul into research and development (R&D),” says Smoke’s founder, Ryan Smolkin. “We have created something so unique we cannot wait to share it with the world.”
