Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, Ont., has announced the names of several franchises that will be part of the mall’s new area called The Food District.
The Food District, located within the west expansion, is expected to open on April 1. This area will lend an authentic experience for foodie tourists and locals alike and will feature local, handmade high-quality foods from franchises, such as The Pie Commission, Dal Moro’s Pasta, and Craft Chippery.
Spanning an area of 3716-m2 (40,000-sf), the district will provide guests a space to meet, explore, and browse through take-home specialty items.
“Square One has been a key part of the Mississauga community for more than 45 years and the centre has grown with the city; continuously evolving to provide an innovative destination to explore fashion, food, lifestyle, and entertainment,” said Square One director and general manager, Greg Taylor. “We are thrilled to continue to invest in the area and the prosperity of its residents, while also creating more than 250 job opportunities with this addition. The Food District will house gourmet artisans in a space where guests can enjoy and share their food experiences.”
