There are currently more than 6,500 Taco Bell restaurants in 23 countries. The franchisor, Yum! Brands, wants to expand to approximately 9,000 within five years. It will focus on Canada, Brazil, India and China for international growth, with plans to open 100 restaurants in each of these markets.

The new restaurants feature open kitchens, shareable food items, digital menu boards and local artists’ work.
