Ankit Patel and Kunal Thakur are bringing the ‘madness’ to Canada with the opening of their Teriyaki Madness location in Lethbridge earlier this summer.
Thakur was working as the head of national sales for Kellogg in West Africa when he decided to relocate with his immediate family to be closer to loved ones in Lethbridge. His business partner, Patel, was already a franchisee with a restaurant brand, so the two started researching various brands they could own together. That’s when they came across Teriyaki Madness and thought it was a perfect fit for them. Looking ahead, they plan to own 20 shops in the next 10 years.
“It was important to us to find a brand that was fun-loving and health-focused,” said Thakur. “With Teriyaki Madness, our expectations were surpassed. We’re confident the brand will be well-received in Canada and are looking forward to introducing locals to the madness.”
“In the past decade, we have been growing at a rapid pace, introducing bold flavors in new communities. We are ecstatic to be opening up our first shop in Canada,” said Teriyaki Madness CEO Michael Haith. “Ankit and Kunal are wonderful members of our franchise family, and we are so excited to watch and support them as they champion the brand’s entry into this new market. Ankit and Kunal will surely drive success in the country as the company continues to expand beyond Lethbridge and throughout Canada.”
