Until August 1, customers can visit www.duellingdonuts.ca to design their own donut and explain why it should be added to the Tim Hortons menu. The franchise system will provide weekly design themes to spark their creativity. Eight finalists selected at the end of the submission period will be flown to Tim Hortons’ head office in Oakville, Ont., to pitch their creations to a celebrity panel, including Jason Priestley, Jann Arden, Anna Olson and Ben Mulroney, battling for a spot in the final four.
“Last year showed Canadians go wild when it comes to donuts,” says Priestley. “I can’t wait to see what people create this year.”
On August 18, Tim Hortons will let all Canadians decide which donut will be crowned champion. The winner will receive $10,000 cash and have his/her donut added to the menu later this year.
