Tim Hortons introduces ‘Beyond Meat’

Breakfast fans looking to incorporate more plant-based meals into their diets have some additional options, thanks to Tim Hortons.

The food-service franchise system has introduced three new ‘Beyond Meat’ breakfast sandwiches.

“Canadians are looking to incorporate plant-based options into their diets and we’re thrilled to partner with Beyond Meat to test three sandwiches—including an entirely vegan offering if the market test confirms the potential we see for the platform,” said Alex Macedo, president of Tim Hortons. “With roughly 4000 locations in Canada, we’re looking forward to being able to offer Canadians a truly accessible meat alternative they can feel good about.”

Beyond Meat’s Beyond Breakfast Sausage is featured in the three menu items including a Beyond Meat Breakfast Sandwich, Farmers Breakfast Wrap, and a Beyond Meat Vegan sandwich.

“We’re excited to team up with Tim Hortons to bring the health and environmental benefits of our plant-based patty to more consumers,” said Ethan Brown, founder and CEO of Beyond Meat. “A national launch would allow us to further our mission of making delicious plant-based products more readily accessible to Canadians countrywide.”

Menu items are available in select restaurants, with a full roll-out at the end of summer if results are favourable.
