YUM! Brands has promoted David Gibbs to CEO of Pizza Hut. He replaces the retiring Scott Bergren and leaves behind his presidency with Pizza Hut U.S.
 
AutoCanada, a car dealership franchisor, welcomes Barry James to its board of directors. He has more than 35 years’ business experience, including management and partnership roles in PricewaterhouseCoopers.
 
MTY Food Group and Keurig Canada have an agreement to take the Van Houtte Café-Bistro franchise into a “new era of great food and beverage service.” Keurig Canada will maintain the Van Houtte image, brand and wholesale business while MTY Food Group will own and operate the Van Houtte Café-Bistros.
 
The International Franchise Association (IFA) welcomes new team members Andie Snider, director for conferences and meetings, Cara Prodanovich, coordinator for communications and marketing and Gionne Jones, special projects coordinator.
 
Garth Whyte has stepped down as president and CEO of Restaurants Canada. The board of directors has asked past chair Donna Dooher to step in as interim president and CEO until a new candidate is selected.
 
John W Robinson III has been named the new CEO of lease-to-own retailer, Aaron’s. Robinson replaces Gil Danielson, who served as interim.
