Canadian recreational cannabis franchise system Spiritleaf has teamed up with cannabis education group Lift and Co to prepare franchisees for responsible selling of the product.
Developed in partnership with MADD Canada, Lift and Co’s retail training certification will provide Spiritleaf employees with in-depth category and product information, as well as education on public health and harm reduction, law and liabilities, and working with different cannabis customers to ensure the product is sold responsibly.
The certification is offered as either a two-day “boot camp” or a five-day intensive course.
“We’re thrilled to provide training to Spiritleaf as they prepare to educate Canadian consumers and launch their brand across Canada,” said Lift and Co CEO Matei Olaru. “We’re proud to provide this comprehensive training to frontline retailers across the country this October.”
Complementing the retail training, Spiritleaf’s flagship store in Calgary, Alta., will also use Lift and Co’s Cannabis Concierge, a tablet-based product tool designed to better assist staff members in providing customers with access to appropriate strains and products, which are suggested based on a customer’s inputted information.
“We are committed to ensuring our franchise partners have the necessary tools and information available to deliver the best service to our customers,” said Spiritleaf CEO Darren Bondar. “Lift and Co’s certification helps ensure our retail teams are well-prepared to talk skillfully about cannabis in a way that is responsible, with a strong level of product knowledge.”
