We were both successful Baskin-Robbins franchisees in Toronto with distinct approaches to running our businesses before we ever teamed up. It turns out we work together very well, as we both bring different attributes to the table.
Dessert franchise system Baskin-Robbins recently added warm cookie ice cream sandwiches and sundaes to its menu in Canada. The cookie options include dark chocolate chunk, double fudge, peanut butter chocolate and white chunk macadamia nut.
Canadian food-service franchise system Tim Hortons’ Duelling Donuts contest entered its next phase after a celebrity panel judged eight quarter-finalists. On August 12, the contestants travelled to the Tim Hortons headquarters in Oakville, Ont., with their creations to be judged by Jann Arden, Deadmau5 and Sophie Tweed-Simmons.
To celebrate the 20th birthday of the McFlurry, fast-food franchise system McDonald’s Canada simulated an actual flurry over a restaurant in the dessert’s birthplace, Bathurst, N.B. The team at McDonald’s Canada made an artificial snowstorm while they gave away free red velvet and Oreo McFlurries.
Canadian pizza franchise system Pizza Pizza has added Funnel Cake Stix to its menu. In an effort to increase Pizza Pizza’s dessert options, the strips of funnel cake covered in sugar and cinnamon are joining two-bite brownies and mini apple pies on the company’s ‘Sweet Treats’ menu.
Food-service franchisor Pita Pit has added Royal Swedish Snowballs to its menu as a low-calorie dessert option. The chain has brought the European dessert to North America for the first time, to serve as the first specialized dessert option on its menu.
