It’s not unusual to give a chef a standing ovation after a great meal—but when the food elicits applause before anyone has eaten, you can bet it’s one heck of a showstopper. “The chef hadn’t even served anything yet,” recalls Anne Dickson, a trained chef herself. “He brought the pig into the room and everyone stood up and clapped.”
