It’s not unusual to give a chef a standing ovation after a great meal—but when the food elicits applause before anyone has eaten, you can bet it’s one heck of a showstopper. “The chef hadn’t even served anything yet,” recalls Anne Dickson, a trained chef herself. “He brought the pig into the room and everyone stood up and clapped.”
Food-service franchise system The Keg recently opened a new restaurant at Cadillac Fairview (CF) Sherway Gardens in Toronto, while another food-service franchise system, Joey Restaurants, prepares to open there in February 2016.
Food-service franchise system Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria announced it will implement full service, update its menu and modernize its overall look. “While we received a lot of love for our approach to ordering food using tablets, our customers have told us they want full service in all of our restaurants.”
Pizzeria franchise system Blaze Pizza opened its first international location at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto earlier this month. The 2,500-square-foot restaurant seats 50 people and is constructed of recycled and sustainable materials.
Food-service franchise system Smoke’s Poutinerie opened the first Toronto franchise for its new concept Smoke’s Weinerie on September 22. The grand opening offered snack-size poutine and naked premium wieners for two dollars.
